How do you slide the timing belt on? (jdm h22a)

Default How do you slide the timing belt on? (jdm h22a)

hey the motor is out of the car and it has a manual tensioner.. but i cant seem to slide the timing belt on.. IS there a trick to this?

Its a very tight fit. Make sure the tensioner is all the way backed off and the cam gears are perfectly aligned. Do the intake side first.

Keep the belt slid mostly off all the pulleys and get it on ALL pulleys before sliding it all the way on.

Also, a bud showed me a trick where you loosen the tensioner and push down on where the spring connects to take up the slack, pushing it all the way loose. Doing this made it MUCH easier for me to get the belt back on.
