So I'm outside today shoveling the foot of snow that mother nature lovingly bestowed upon us last night, and suddenly, for no reason, I started thinking about.... Freeky Freezies. Does anybody else remember those things?
They were those snow gloves that looked plain in the warm, but when you got them in the cold, designs would show up. I mean this was before the Hypercolor T-Shirts and all that, so at the time, this was like the pinnacle of engineering! Personally I loved my pair. Sure, Underoos were great too, but did they have designs that appeared magically? I think not!

Must not have been very popular in SoCal. I have never heard of them.
PS: It's currently 85º and sunny at my house. Might have to run the AC if this keeps up...

You lost me on that one....
No, no snowballs today Phil. While I was shoveling I saw my neighbor's kid's gloves, and they reminded me of them for just that split second. I can still remember putting those gloves in the freezer to make the designs appear....

Still, looks like you guys got a healthy dose of snow! Wow. I could use a snow day at work, wish we had that storm hit us tomorrow

It is kind of bizarre how doing a very mundane, repetitive task like snow shovelling or lawn mowing can let your mind wander as it really isn't needed for the take at hand and it would probably prefer to be off doing something else. I know that for several years when I mow one section of my yard my mind always returns to thinking about a chain letter I received once that went through most of CART and NASCARand much of the racing industry about six or seven years ago. It had letters, letterhead and hand writing from the likes of Carl Haas, Jimmy Vassar Sr. and Jr., Alex Zanardi, Max Papis, Bobby Rahal, Chip Ganassi, etc. I got it from someone on the industry side whom I don't recall but it was a who's who of racing. I don't know why the mind wanders to this chain letter during that part of the yard, maybe I was mowing it when I opened that piece of mail. Maybe those tasks are just so ho-hum that the mind needs some entertainment. Some news event, something from your childhood, etc.
But then who am I to try to create a rationale or defend what Bookler is thinking about?

Last time I checked, a big yellow wet spot didn't qualify as a design.
