Hi all. My wife's battery died.
2001 Accord EX V6.
Factory alarm system installed.
Bought car used from Honda dealer.
I removed the old battery and put in a Diehard from Sears. As soon as I connect the positive terminal, the car horn activates. I tried disabling the alarm via the remote key w/ the panic button.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try turning on ign. before you hook up batt. "Silent Power-up", you may also have to reprogram remote. 94

 

THE FIX (from the Tech dept): With the alarm activated (and horn relay pulled) and all doors/hood closed I just inserted the key into the driver's side door and manually locked and then unlocked it. Problem solved! Thanks for your replies!
