Did my first track day
Went to my first track day today, was awesome fun, learning to hang off the bike made setting up corners so much easier, just need some knee sliders and I can put my knee down without ripping my knee caps off
(Apologies for the crappy phone pics)

This guy who brought his own 125cc track bike that he built himself getting a push start, it was one fastest thing on the track, 125 race bike, then again we were mostly all noobs

Looks like a ton of fun. I would hurry up and get a pair of track pants though. Jeans on the track gets a big  remember, on the track (and on the street for that matter) you should always dress as if you ARE going to wreck. because, eventually, you will. Still looks like a hell of a good time, i just took my F2 to the strip for the first time yesterday, talk about a rush :D
ps. whats that grey car in the upper right of the first pic? i recognize it, but cant put a name to it.

Grey car is a lotus elise i think?
Re: track wear, I had Draggin Jeans (Cargos on) with knee inserts, everyone else either had, minimum 2 pairs of jeans on, Draggins or leathers

Yeah, I was suprised to see all those people in jeans as well.
I believe the car you are refering to is the Atom made by Ariel, correct?
I can't wait to do a track day this coming summer....something low key like that is exactly what I would want.

Was massive fun, there were 2 instructors, that came out every now and again ie to show the finer art of hanging an *** cheek off when taking a corner etc etc, but otherwise, they just let us go out and ride
It was a 1.6km track at a driver training center

but went to a trackdayz at Barbagello raceway (main raceway in Western Australia) the otherweekend (spectator) and the absolute MINIMUM was 2 pairs of jeans, so I thought it was pretty standard?
Suffice to say, everyone was either in Draggin Jeans / Cargos or Leathers
bonus picture of the black peril

Wow what a laxed track day. Everywhere I've been its been full leathers, if its a 2 piece must be a full zip around, or aproved cordura suits, some dont even allow that. No one allows mirrors to be out, either off or folded back. Taillights must be disconnected or tapped, some allow headlights to be on but usually you have to tape it up.

+1...not to mention no coolant
Trackday with jeans...
and two pairs of jean wont do crap for you when you go down at the track. One of those turns dont look too either (guardrail within 10ft of the track). Just be safe and I'd recommend that you get leathers before heading back to a track

I guess it was more of a rider training day done on a short track. But yes will definately look at getting some leather pants to zip up with my jacket and some sliders
Pete: Re: the CBR400 (minus 150

it was a cbr250rr, same as mine (black and red one)

Correct, Western Australia, seems to be a bit more variety down here than what is avaliable in the States, especially sub 600cc bikes.
