Default hit and run.. ITR vs STi

ok.. so heres the story

i went out to sunrise highway (in san diego/socal) to run it and take more pictures after last weekend with my friend on his bike.. well we were out there, on the first run, we ended up meeting another guy on a bike, so he we hung out with us and did runs too.. (me in my R, ben the guy we met, and andy, my friend on his bike).. so we were doing runs, and i was taking pictures of them.. then it was my turn for a few runs.. andy was going to take pictures and ben was going to ride with me.

so we go do 2 rounds.. and he was LOVING it.. anyways, we pull up and talk to andy for a minute, to let some slow truck get farther up, and then i take off again, up ahead i can see an STi coming down the hill, and we were about to hit a turn, and i see this evo come out of it VERY VERY wide.. straight at me.. in my lane.. i like "oh ****" and ben is like holy f*** and i slam on my brakes, the STi comes at me, and doesnt even try to stop, he tries to swerve around me, and sideswipes me.. i stop, pull off the road, and the STi takes off and never looks back. we run back to where andy is at and were like yelling at him to go catch the STi, so we get to the bikes, where they left them, and ben gets on his bike and takes off.. STi gets away.. he had a good 5 minute head start..

so basically.. hit and run.. whole left side is gone.. insurance place is calling me tomorrow

Hopefully now you've learned that "canyon running" is stupid.

no..

canyon running is good. street racing is bad. canyon running and not knowing wtf you are doing is bad

just because you drive a STi or EVO.. it doesnt mean you know HOW to drive.. if you cant stay in your own lane.. stick to initial d

When one is trying to push his car to the limit, one will inevitably go over that limit. If one never goes over the limit, there is no way to know where the limit is.

If one goes over the limit at the track, there odds of injury to self and others is far less. Nevermind the fact that the police won't write you any tickets. This is why you drive on the track. It is a safer and more controlled environment.

Since you obviously would like to hone your driving skills, why not take it to the track?

There are numerous nice tracks in California.

i wasnt there to push my car.. i know the limits on my car, and i stick to them. i was there mainly for the cruise, and to take pictures of my R, and my friend on his bike..

and when i say the limits.. im talking about the car handling, and MY driving.. im sure if a professional racecar driver got in my car, he would be flying around the corners at a buck+ .. i know my limits and i have no need or reason to push it on a mountain road.

anyways.. i totally agree with you about the track..

Your reference to doing "runs" in your first post made it sound like you were there to do the same type of jackass driving as the EVO and STi drivers.

I "run" my car all the time in this manner. I "run on freeways and local twisty roads etc. I see no harm in driving your car in this fashion . I can get a great feeling just driving at speed limits and cruising . Not to say I dont drive over the speed limit ever. People who preach track only track only mean well but not everyone who enjoys driving on the street is high on fast and the furious and drives like an idiot over their limit. This joker in the sti is lucky he didnt kill you and wasnt driving in the manner I have done safely for 12 years now. Hope he comes forward and admits his mistake.

Man that sucks about the car and the jacket.

Never should've left the jacket like that though. I don't trust anything anywhere let along a $300 jacket.

People suck

it was white.. theres a small picture of it my friend managed to shoot as it flew past him.. but too small to get any plates.

i took off his rear view mirror, and thats in some of the pictures as well, plus some yellow paint on it, so you know its from my car

Sucks that you were hit, but what were you doing out there in the first place? I don't get it.

Sometimes you make your own luck.
