Gas tank capacity?
I have an EG 4-door...I looked on carpoint.com to find the particulars on my car. the Gas capacity says like 10.9 gallons or 11.9 gallons........Whenever Im on E and fill up I end up only putting about 8 gallons give or take a little. So can I keep driving 4 a lot longer on E or is that the wrong tank capacity?
VX/CX: Fuel Tank Capacity: 10 gal.
DX/EX/Si: Fuel Tank Capacity: 11.9 gal.
I'm sure they're all the same between hatch/coupe/sedan. But that's what I've found off Edmunds for the 93 year.

well I don't kno if it's a typo but anybody ever filled a completely empty tank? There's really only one way to find out but im not that curious
i used to have a ef sedan- 8 gallons
and now i have a 94 dx coupe, which is a 11.9 gallon tank, but like thecivicassisan said, i also put about 8 gallons from the red mark on the "E" to the top of the line (full mark). i think cars are built like this so if anyone runs out of gas (E mark) they can still go a distance to get gas since theres probally a few more gallons on there.
wouldnt it suck if everytime you hit the "E" mark your car is totally out of gas and u cant go anymore?

It's designed to do that.
My light comes on, if I go fill it up right away i'll only put about 9.5 gallons in it. I have an 11.9 gallon tank. It's designed to give you that warning before you run out, much like the needle being on the E before it's actually Empty.

you can probably find out if you look in your manual
Also your gas needle and warning light are not the most accurate things on the planet and like other said they are meant to give you a warning before you run out.
lastly your must realize there is a difference between "tank capacity" and "usable fuel". That is to say your engine will probably die and you will still have a little big of fuel left in the tank.
