I run the J's and the throttle response is awesome. It's a little big so the chamber rubs on my spark plug wires. No biggie. I have nothing to compare it to though.

I haven't heard anything great about the ARC unit

I currently rock the whale dong (J's) as well. No complaints here. As the rocket man said, throttle response is awesome. Now I just need to work on some sort of CF heat sheild similar to the Mugen unit.

i had the j's, then went to the arc. for the money, the j's was better.

didn't dyno with the arc yet, don't plan to either, prolly selling the setup for something else later on down the road =P

I have the J's as well. Very nice deep tone in the higher rpm range.

I had the J's and liked it a lot. Throttle response was 10x better than with my AEM CAI. However, I got the intake just before winter and didn't have a problem with it 'til the weather warmed up. The caR felt like a pig tp end and in traffic in the heat. If I could do it all over again I would go with the m00gen bling box or the comptech.

I hate to be the only naysayer, but the J's sucks. It does beat most intakes up to 4,000 rpm, thus the throttle response that many rave about. I have one and have used it for about a year. Switched back to the AEM CAI about two months ago. I have many dyno charts with the J's getting it's butt handed to it above 4,000 rpm.

the J's and the ARC are more of a "bling" intake, but they do provide great throttle response. I have the J's and love it, but im also not a horsepower freak. the mugen will for sure make more power with the AEM CAI right behind. Just like opie, i would have picked up the mugen early on, but I am very happy with my J's and plan to keep it

yeah i'd say mugen is the shitz.

i like how my vtec pulls on my aem but on my j's it feels like you lose some top end compared to aem.

J's = @ lower rpm when u give it a gas.. it growls but when it hits vtec. it's smooth and feels like it doesnt kick in as hard.

aem. = opposite as the J's weak on lower rpm and pulls hard on vtec +

my favorite intake setup ever was.. my aem cai cutted in half with velocity stack.
REAL LOUD VTEC. and also very good on lower rpms

I am running the ARC intake setup on my ITR right now. It is very responsive, very loud, and very blingy, very much more than 2x the price of the J's for the same performance. If you’re looking for straight up numbers I wouldn't buy either of them. If you are around the portland/beaverton area I can show you my intake setup and you can decide for yourself.

does anyone else have the stupid coupler for their j's that slides up into the itake instead of over the end where you can just put a clamp on it?

For that reason, I have been looking at the Comptech. I would love to get the Mugen but it's hard to stumble onto one used.

I have the ARC Chamber and the AirBox, i never did a dyno but i dont really like it when engine rev above 5k, later i tried to swap off the airbox and replace it with the Huge HKS mushroom filter. with a home made ghetto air induction tube with one end directly facing the mushroom it feels way better at higher rpm range.

Now, Im about time to swap back the ARC box with some modification, i dont know if it will be better but there are always methods and things you can do to test **** out. Im planning to build a heat shield / seperator thing in between the exhaust manifold and the box itself. if you know how mitsubushi Lancer evoution one looks like, i think its a perfect design!! it shield up the whole area.

i think the reason why the intake sucks, especially comparing to those CAI in horsepower figuars. is the heat generated inside the engine bay during high rpm. just hope it wont get too ugly.. LOL

you have any pictures of this setup??

i'm currently running the AEM CAI, have a brand new J's Racing intake still in the boxn that i think i'm going to wait untill the fall season to install... and just switch back and fourth. AEM for the hot months (gets 110-120 degrees here in the summer time) and J's for the cooler months.

Remember ICEMAN intakes? I loved those intakes...Anyone know if ICEMAN ever made a ITR specific CAI?
