splitting si tranny case.... how do i do it? asap

Default splitting si tranny case.... how do i do it? asap

trying to split the casing on an 89 d16a6 cant get it to come all the way apart, we got a gap btwn the belhousing and and the actual gearbox but it wont come all the way apart. any help will be appreciated.

on the back of the case is a 32mm plug with a square hole in it that a 3/8" ratchet will fit in - remove the plug - look down in the hole and you will see a snap ring that fits in a groove in the countershaft bearing and another groove in the case - spread that ring open as far as you can to get it out of the bearing groove and pull up back half of case
