Oil change
I was just combing through my owners manual to check to see what things I can do myself to cut back the costs for a 100,000 mile tune up. And this will be the first time for me doing an oil change. It says that there is a special wrench required to remove the oil filter. I was just wondering if it is possible to just remove it by twisting it with my hand? And is the wrench really needed? I've done oil changes before but not on an acura. I am thinking that they just want to make you get it done at acura.
Nope, that wrench is just needed if you Can't twist it off by hand,
either way, you should only tighten the oil filter by hand anyways.
Timing belt is the Number one thing on a 100k tune-up,
It'll be a little more tricky if you don't have the area and tools though.
Couple other small things you can do yourself with ease is,
.Fuel Filter
.Spark Plugs and Wires
.Misc gaskets
Mostly replace the gaskets if you see any leaks.
Other then that, just check everything over good.
