I tried a search but didn't find anything helpful.
I have had my 2000 ITR parked for the last week, during the week I tested out my sound system which uses about 700 watts rms for roughly 20 - 25 mins.
I went to start it today, and all the lights would come on full power, head lights on no problems, interior lights no problem, power antenna and sound system on no problems.
I go to crank it and it tries to turnover but i just hear click click click click in rapid succession.
At first I figured it was the battery, but then my dad came home and told me it doesn't look like it is the batter and it seems like its something else.
I pulled off the distributor cap and cleaned the inside terminals and still nothing, we held the spark plug cable against the distributor to test for spark and nothing.
So what else should I check ? or should I wait till the morning buy some jumper cables and try it.
Car has 68,000km on it
I also have an alarm with immobilisers, how can I test to see if thats the culprit, any ideas ?

Were you testing the sound system for 25 mins with the car off?
If so, you probably just killed the battery. Try jumping it.
In the future, you should start your car when you want to test out your system.

The reason you hear the click, click is because the starter doesn't have enough juice. Its not going to be the dizzy since the car never turns over. So hence no spark anyways.
How did your dad determine it was battery? Did he put a tester on it?
If the battery checks out good I would make sure you have a good power connection to the starter. If that doesn't help then I would try to see if you can turn the crank over by hand. If you can do that then I would replace the starter.

if your car has been sitting for a week and you had the key on for 20-25 mins then of course its your batt i would either replace it or just jump it and let it run for a while......68K is that an original batt?
I have the same problem. My dad charged the battery but still wont start sometimes he thinks it coul be the start is messed up. Plus i recently had the alarm removed because it was going on by itself to much. any help htere

Running the battery completley dead is not good. It makes batteries die fast.
Get a dry cell. Their lighter and can be ran until their dead and recharged without any problems.

just because there's enough juice in your battery to get your stereo, lights, and everything else working doesn't mean there's enough juice to actually turn your car over... that takes more amperage then any other single thing on your car... when EVER you have clicking you can best bet it has something to do with the battery, always

When trying to start the car, tap lightly with a hammer/wrench on the starter. It may be the starter after all. If it does start after the tapping, replace starter. Otherwise I would say the battery is WAY low. I had this happen either when A: the battery is WAY low or B: the starter is shot. Either way, I don't think it's the dizzy.

I get clicking, on several honda's out there. I don't "think" it's the starter, but one thing you need to check without spending any money. Bang on it while someone is trying to turn the car over. Just one of those checks I do before spending any money. Well then again, I do have a Snap-On scanner with 4 channel lab scope....

Nah, my old man has his own shop, so you gotta have the tools to get the job done right the first time.
I wouldn't try jumping a battery that low, if it turns out to be the battery. I would take the battery down to your local autozone and have them check the battery or have them charge it for you. Put the battery back in and see what happens.

Im freaking sick as hell, but dragged my *** off to our equivalent of wal mart, and bought some jumper cables.
I tried but no luck, so in my delerious state i swapped the battery from my moms car in to see if it would start, sure enough it started. So now she has the dead battery
just joking.
Think its time for an optima yellow top, deep cycle power.
It may be the drugs kicking in, or the chicken noodle soup, but i love this site. You guys are awesome.

Not entirely sure I could recommend that battery. I currently have the OEM size yellow top in my car, and have burned out 2 of them just within the 12 month warranty. Had I not gottn it replaced under warranty, I would have a different battery in the car now. You may want to look at other options.

theres a good chance its the battery cuz most cars need 14v to start up, you might be at like 12 which is giving you the idea that its not your battery, but charge it up for a minute and youll be suprised. if its not your battery, you probably messed somethin up when you took your dizzy off for no reason at all
