Is it going to be a full cage? Is the cage needed or just doing it to do it?

though looking at the middle cross there's no recession--is there going to be enough room for a seat and a harness setup? also are you gonna have a main diagonal from top left to bottom right?

that would be my car

It is getting the cage to be legal in NASA and SCCA road racing. I'm moving from trime trials up to full wheel to wheel, door to door, fight for the finish line road racing this year.

As for the diagonal brace in the main hoop, that is going in today, and it will be 1 solid strait bar. The guys are Domination Chassis have that seat belt bar marked were they need to cut part of it out for the diagonal brace. Don't worry it will be a legal 6 point cage before it leaves their shop

I'm loving the pics can't wait to see more tonight
and in person tomorrow afternoon.

ah nice walter!

What are you doing for door bars and the main hoop? trying to think of what kind of cage i want in the DA and apparently, there are a lot of choices to make.

I thought I read that you aren't allowed to use a CF plug inplace of the sunroof?

I can't remember where I read it, but I thought it said that it had to made out of the material that the roof is.

Just a question, but is 1.75 x 0.095 legal? I haven't checked the GCR or CCR lately.

Here's my HC legal cage to show a little comparison. You can see there are definitely some things that Walter is doing differently. One way isn't necessarily better than the other, just different.

As for the sunroof plug, for SCCA, it needs to be the same material as the stock roof. For NASA, it can be composite.

I recently replaced the Sparco with an Ultrashield seat, much better fit than the Sparco!

Looks good Walter!

Now if I could just get past my budget problems so I could get my license!!

Here is the general design of the cage that Domination is building for me, with notes about rules.

from the NASA CCR:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
<U>2201 - 3000 lbs (car weight)</U>
1.5" x 0.12" chrome-moly / seamless mild steel (DOM)
1.75"x0.095" chrome-moly / seamless mild steel (DOM)
</TD></TR></TABLE>

The 1.75x0.095 is lighter per foot, thus why we are using it.
