No third gear? help?
I bought a transmission locally and he said that is was an ls with no third gear. So I go to open it up today and I nitice that the stamp says s1 which is not an ls. Also after opening up the transmission I expected to see a stripped gear but the only thing I saw was perfectly normal tranny. Could it be that he gave me a the wrong one? Is it possable for a tranny to have a third gear blown without the gears messed up?

Or he may have meant that the 3rd gear synchros are messed up, which is why nothing is visibly wrong.
Edit: My bad, S1 can also be an LS cable trans.
