Spark plug wire trouble...any hellp!
Whats happening fella's?
I finally got a chance to finish my swap, so now on to the troubles and confusions on getting the car to run fine wth out any troubles.
Heres my problem, I have a CRX HF 91 that I swapped in a D15B Vtec. Now as far as the spark plug wires go I got the SI ones (1.6) D16Z6 (Bosc brand). As I was installing them I noticed they didnt go in all the way in. (see pics below). I went back to VatoZone and asked the not so knowledgeable costumer ***. To check the wires for me and i also asked fo the other years. I checked CRX 88-91 wires, even the SI, all were the same. I checked Civic between 92-95, that have a Vtec engines 1.5 and 1.6 even the SI model as well and same part N# from the CRX. I also measured the tube from each one and all were the same lenght. any suggestions on how to solve this problem.
Dont get me wrong they do fit in fine and i hear a click noise when they go in. They sit firm too. Work fine too as well no problems there either. The only thing that worries is something getting in there and causing trouble down the road. I live in Chicago so we get all types of weather. any help is appreciated.
Noticed in the pics the header was not installed yet.

not to be a dick or anything but i would buy honda plug wires. they fit correctley, as yours do not, and they last forever, 100,000+. auto zone wires are refered to as "will fit" wires. they arent made to fit specific cars as oem wires are, they are made to fit a number of diffrent cars that are close enough together they they will probably work. its worth the money, trust me
so you think i should just get honda or NGK any particular part N# i should check for or just go with the regular CRX SI wires from honda? thanks.

I'm currently using those... and they sucked
You'll find that you can hold the cap and tug the wire out some and it should snug up some.
I just picked up a set of NGK blues because I couldn't handle the crappy fitment

I had the same problem when I installed a d16y7 in my friends crx. I just used the stock honda ones because the other plugs has a tab or something that keeps it from going in all the way.
