gsr intake manifold

Default gsr intake manifold

can anyone tell me if you can gain and power by porting and polishing the stock intake manifold. i tryed to do a search and came up with nothing. thank you.

You wont see any huge gains, you'll be increasing the airflow, but unless you port match the throttle body as well you really wont be seeing any differences what so ever..

Some people actually prefer the power-band offered by the GS-R 2 stage manifold verses that of the B-16 or Type-R manifold. My friend had his GS-R intake manifold ported and polished, also had the throttle body opening matched to his 65mm throttle body. He said that he felt decent gains, but he already had stage 2 cams, and the manifold simply could not flow enough for the motor. After p/p he was pretty happy. Unless your setup really need the extra flow, don't waste your money.
