Default Gauge needels jumping

I have a b16 in an eg and when I am driving it every so often the tach needle will jump down to 0 and then come back up and jolt around a little. I am thinking that it is a bad ground. anyone have any similar problems?

check if any wiring is loose. a lot of times when the tach starts jumping, it's something regarding the dizzy (rotor, coil, etc). i had that problem and it turned out my dizzy was shot.

its a wiring problem...do you have a shift light or something hooked up? I had a problem with the wire tapped into my signal wire on the dizzy. It can also be on the speed sensor..another problem i had..check those two for wiring problems..or just disconnect any RPM or shift light guage
