Default 900cc engine in a f4

Hey guys last summer I got a 2000 f4 and I absolutly love it. I got a 600 because it was my first sportbike and I wanted to be able to keep the insurance low. Eventually I want to move up to a bigger bike like a 929, 954 or 1000rr. Once I get better at riding. I heard from a friend that you can fit a 900rr or 929rr engine into the f4 chassis. I was wondering if there was any truth to it and if and if anyone knew of a website or forum that would be of help. The idea sounded nice because my insurance would stay low and I would not have to buy and sell any bikes.

Also if its time that is an issue I live in Wisconsin so I have plenty of down time to mess with my bike.

WELL... I really dont know if your combo would work (almost anything can be built for a price), the bigger question is why? I realize this being a honda site, that frankenstein's and swaps are the norm, but motorcycles are balanced... the rake, swing arms lengths, bell crank ratio's... all these and more work in harmony, dont mess it up bu trying to be tricky. You gain more time by working on your riding ability

Yea what he said. And by the time you get all the necessary parts and everything installed you probably could have just gotten a 1000. Either way keep us updated if you decide to go through with it.

i hadent taken the whole balance thing into consideration. Yea me and most of my friends have swaped engines in our cars so it seemed like a resonable idea. The bike is more for fun and a daily driver in the summer. I am not into racing I would just eventually like to have a bike with more torque and to wheelie with the throttle alone.

anyone else have any info?

also just doing the project some winter was the most appealing part of it.

the easiest swap in recent model bike is the famous GSXR1100 in to the GSXR750 frame, I know that one works very well... it had quite a reputation at the track

The 750's frame were a bit more compact and quicker... that was the reason for the change.

Do the engine bolts mount up? I really don't think so, otherwise this modification would be well-known. But, good luck to you if you pursue this course.

exaclty, there is more to it than that... chain deflection, weight bias, fuel feed(gravity etc) I mean it goes on and on.

i feel that with bikes there is a much finer line. especially in te newer bikes. i mean think about it they take years to do full makeovers on bikes. in my opinion there is too much on a bike that has to work together perfectly to risk mixing and matching.
