Timing BElt CHange?
Can anyone post up professional facts about changing a timing belt on a 96 GSR. Would like the info due to the lack of knowledge about changing my timing belt.
Change it every 90k miles, and while you're at it, it's easy to also change the alt, ps, and a/c accessory belts. You will want to change your water pump, and the consensus seems to be you should replace your tensioner every second time (180k) you change the belt. Follow these instructions to do it:

Its relativey easy. I did my first one on my '93 about a year and half ago. Went super smooth. Remember its a good thiing to prolly change the waterpump and tensioner while your in their.
Where in WI are you?

I'm currently in the same boat. First timing belt replacement I've ever done....
Everything has gone smooth (crank pulley removal, water pump replacement, tensioner replacement, setting it to TDC...) but I can't get the damned thing on the cam gears! I'm having some friends over who have already done one so I'm sure it should be all together by tommorrow night. Luckily this is NOT by daily driver yet. Its currently labeled my POS beater for the winter months. Hopefully it'll be running for the snow this weekend. I hate taking my lowered car through snow banks...
