i have a 90 civic hb with a d16y7 no vtec but i cant get it right cause i dont get how to wireer the crank angle sensor i have it on paper by steps but it says use si distributor. but y when im not runing vtec no need for it right i need some help ...

 

None of the engines in the US ever had VTEC in our cars. You need an Si Distributor because the DX doesn't have a crank angle sensor in it (I could be wrong on that, I did a DX to ZC swap, but I know you need the Si distributor).

They're talking about the distributor from an 88-91 D16a6 Si...no vtec.

The crank angle sensor is in the distributor, that's why you need the Si distributor since it has a crank angle sensor. The DX distributor does not.
