Can I(car) do Nitrous?
finally traded my 96 accord and got a 2005 accord coupe V6 FPpak w/Auto trans. and already am use to the increase in hp. I am ready for more, so I have looked at a few nitrous kits and have heard that a dry kit may be the way to go.? Bottom line I don't want to ruin my baby, and being an auto scares me...should it? I will be putting in an AEM CAI and some other light mods if this makes any difference. I need someone who knows to give me some straight, unbias info.
Thanks All

Nitrous can be extremely safe if the proper steps are taken. First, I'd recommend a wet kit over a dry kit any day of the week. Second, considering that you have an auto tranny, I'd suggest finding a way around spraying through shifts...whether that be through a manual activation (push button) set up or using a window switch on a wide open throttle activation set up. Many people with auto trannies, myself included, buy kits that use wide open throttle activation for the nitrous. These systems spray whenever the gas peddle is floored. The problem here is that the system will spray through shifts and can cause extensive damage to the transmission. The simple solution to extend the life of your tranny if you use WOT activation is to buy a window switch that allows you to set your kit to only spray at certain rpm ranges....ie-between shifts. Avoid spraying through shifts and your tranny should be fine. Good luck

Thanks Man, I heard nitrous can be safe if done properly and that is obviously what I am after! You mentioned wet over dry, but it looks like in your post you have a dry system.? Just curious why you have dry if you suggest wet. Should I also be switching to redline tranny fluid? Is Zex as good as they say? Thanks for your input!
why not just use higher octane fuel? all accords since 2003 can make sure of higher octane fuel. 91 octane gets you an additional 10hp and 10 tq according to honda.........
also changing out the restrictive "j" pipe in the exhaust will go a long ways to helping that engine breathe.

I got a deal on my kit
I've been looking to switch over for a while to a wet system. Honda ATF-Z1 is the only transimission fluid I would use. As far as nitrous brands, Zex, NOS, and Nitrous Express each produce a great system from what I have seen. I'm happy with Zex so far
Check out each brand's web sites for some useful info.
