is your current trans bad? If you change it out you will definately get much improved accelleration times. Unfortunately you may end up commiting suicide after you go insane from hearing your engine at 4K when you are driving 70.

actually, that would be 4,000rpms @80mph. and yes......the acceleration is a night and day difference, i don't think you would regret it, but it does depend on how much you desire it.....there is the draw back......and that would be the gas mileage, BUT.....on my F23 engine i'm getting 300 to a full tank before the gas light comes on.....BUT i'm also getting 8 miles for every 7 miles, so do the math..... i also have to mention i'm always getting on it AND those miles are all city driving, SO to me it was well worth it and not any other mod would have improved acceleration more then the tranny swap other then turbocharging the engine or nitrous. H22 ludes don't even pull away from me......above and beyond 100mph would be a different story tho, top speed is lowered due to the shorter gearing and as you know or should know, the F-series engines don't make high reving horsepower but it makes up in low-end torque which definitely helps out acceleration.

a H22 tranny swapped F engine.......mod for mod will beat the a F22 or F23 tranny down the 1/4 but topspeed topping out over 140 mph on highway runs the H22 tranny will never see the light of day UNLESS the engine is highly modified for high reving.....SOO yes theres is some draw backs

if ur tranny is crapped out i highly reccomend the H22 tranny, yes there is also the H23, but longer gearing then the H22 means slower and if you trying to maximize acceleration then H22 is the way to go.

just my 2cents and this comes from my experience with the H22 tranny.

the h22 tranny is great on the F. shorter gears its wonderful. And your gas will only go down based on how you drive. Haul *** no gas, drive easy good gas mileage.
Its your car do what makes you happy.
