I doubt it, if his clutch was slipping his RMPs would go high and his speed would stay the same.

I am thinking just a stuck tach or something. If the car continues to accellerate then it can't really be the tranny, can it?

right.

I got myself confused cause I was thinking back to an article I read about the tranny they put in the VX I think. the 1 speed belt type or something. the article said that it felt weird cause it seemed like it was a slipping clutch under acceleration or something. I'll also blame it on me being tired. lol

wait, when you're in 4th, and you floor it, and it gets to 2500 RPMs, is ur speedo still going up (are you going faster) and your tach staying where it is, or is the engine not going past 2500 RPMs in 4th (the car's not accelerating at all, speedo's at the exact same speed as it was 10 minutes ago with it floored)

I don't see how the rpm's could stay steady and the car still accelerate in a manual, unless its just a bad sensor/tach.

Let's see. The CX has monster gearing, so in 5th gear at 2500mph you're going...well over 100mph right?

The thing has like 12hp. What the expletive do you expect? It will slowly go faster, but the RPM won't go up to your eyes because at that speed it would take 1400hp to get it to redline.
