EGR code on pm6 ecu?
I have just recently finished doing a MPFI swap on my 89 civic 4 door(thanks jdmhatchness) and everything runs fine but now i have a code for an egr valve. I was told that my car didnt come with an egr valve so can anyone explain whats going on with my car?
are you sure your ecu says pm6 and not pm8 or pm9......if it says 8 or 9 then it is an hf ecu and the hf's came with egr....yet i dont know why it would come up on an si pm6 ecu.....stumps me too!......does your car drive funny with the code being there?.....if it drives fine i wouldnt wurry bout it much.....oh well......if ya cant duct it *** it
If I change the rom in the ecu(socketed already) will that code go away, as long as its not a hf rom? My gas milage is too shitty for me to leave it alone.
Try another PM6...you can get the 88-89 "non-chippable" variety for under $40. This serves two purposes. First, it tells you if the original ecu is fucked or not. Second, its always good to have a spare.
Or if you're that cheap, borrow one.

is there a a spot on your harness for the egr connection, if so buy an egr and put it in it doesnt have to have the vaccum lines hooked up the car needs to see that it is in the harness
