I grabbed the above quote from another thread in Integra, and wanted to get confirmation that this may be my problem. The reason I pulled this quote, is because the other thread is about something similar, but not the same issue that my car is having.
So I pulled up to school after work, and was sitting in my car, running, a/c on, and was getting ready to grab my back pack, when all of a sudden my car just shut off. Literrally. My eyes got wide, and I was like "WTF?" So I tried to start her up again, and she cranks, but she wont start.
Back to the above quote, is that where I should start, or is there something else I should look into? Thank you for any help. Hopefully I can get this fixed tonight.

How old is your alternator? It happened to my old civic, car just died, first it will crank and then it won't even crank since battery is out of juice. Turns out alternator is shot, won't charge the battery and eventually the car just shut down...

I was thinking more along the lines of this as well, considering the battery is brand new (but was sitting for ~1year). BTW the car doesn't even have 59K miles, but she is ~15 years old.
So my parts list should be:
Rotor
Cap
Dizzy
Wires (just because)
Spark Plugs (because I already have them)
Is that right?

check the main relay also. my old DA used to turn off while i was driving. the main relay was the problem.
try smacking the dash on your left side while trying to start it. if that helps, its the main relay

When u turn the key to accesory do you hear the fuel pump buzzing? Or do u have a fuel pressure gauge? This happend to me last week. Turned out my FI EM fuse blew. No gas getting to the cylinders.

If it cranks, then that pretty much takes the battery out of it.
an easy way to check for fuel, unbolt your fuel pressure regulator and crank it for a second, you should have fuel squirt out.
Easiest way to check for spark is just take a wire out and stick a plug in the end.
make sure you have fuel and spark, check vacuum lines, and any plugs,
but definitely check to see if you Still have a timing belt in one piece.

check your fuses
same thing happened to me, no spark. changed the plugs/wires/rotor/cap/coil still didn't start. my buddy was looking at the fuses for some reason and came to find a blown fuse. changed the fuse, fired right up.

This happened to a buddy of mine, we were sitting in his car outside a store when his car shut off, we poped the hood and it was the timing belt.

it sounds like its different in everyones case. My car was sitting on at the Honda dealership waiting to get its oil changed. They drove it in to put it on the lift and it shut off. Wouldnt crank over. Wanted to....pulled the spark pulg wire....Hole was full of oil. Could be alot of reasons it wont turn.
lmao.. jasper, that group in your sig,
you know fvck is replaced with expletive right?
people don't type it out, unless they're crooked wristed..
anyways, hows the progress with the car, Marble?

Check the timing belt. It should not be the dist. with that low of milage, even at 15 yrs.
I do not thnk it is ignition related, as it just "stopped". If it ran out of gas, or was only on a few cylinders, it would have been a more "slow" death.
It could also be with the battery/charging system, but not likely with your car still cranking.

I had this happened to me before with the cranking. Turns out that the battery is dead and I had to jump start the car. Maybe your battery is new but if your alternator is dead then your battery would die also. Try to Jump start the car first and then unplug the battery. If the car dies then that means it was running on the battery and your car needs a new alternator.

You obviously never had your coil/dizzy die on you then while it was running,
I've had it happen twice and the 2nd time just the other night.
Out of nowhere, my rpms just start dropping and pushing the gas does nothing,
ending up changing a coil from a dif dizzy into my obd1.
:edit:
this was also a 95distribtor, age Does show fast sometimes with them,
being how I had 2 die just from being worn out.
oh and marble, replacing the coil in your dizzy takes 20mins at the Most,
it's hella simple, 3 screws for the cap, 1 for the rotor, and 2 holding in the coil.
easy as cake to do

i have that same problem right now. driving car and it shuts off all of a sudden, noticed its only when car is in gear and accelerating. Try to start it instantly and it wont, if i wait a few mins it will start and i can drive it for a few more mins till it does it all over again.
any suggestions on what it could be?
i check and changed the plugs cause they were fouled
and theres oil on the #1 plug.
friend said it may be fuel pump.
HELP PLEASE
