i have a small tick on my H22 car and i just got the valves adjusted. Someone told me that a tick or a small valve tap was normal on a VTEC car. Is this true?????

 

i have the saaaame problem. my motor is freshly rebuilt. i even had the shop double check the valves. bump for possible answers.

 

ALL H series ive seen have that tick.

 

The tick is often normal on h22 especially the JDM h22. but a very noticable tick can be cause by a a valve, and need a valve adjustment. as long you as you don't here constant ticking at idle then you should be fine for now.

 

yea i the same tick in my prelude and the one i owned before.

 

yeppp. its a 2001, 30,000 miles, ticka ticka ticka ticka at idle (pretty quiet tho).
i guess we all have that same ticker

that tick gets way louder if your egr works itself loose too

I remember hearing/reading somewhere that the ticking is just the injectors, can anyone verify this? Oh, btw, i have 97 SH and im part of the ticky-ticky club lol.

yes the tick is the injectors...thats exactly how they sound..alot of ppl mistake it with the valves being noisy....its extra loud in my civic

 

the ticking makes more noise than the exhaust lol jp
