i just got my swap done and i have had so many check engine ligths i fixed CEL 6, and then 22=vtec preasure,17=VSS speed sensonr poped up cause my speedo wasn't working, fixed the clip and now its working..i reset the ECU and now i have a SOLID CEL when i jump......i read a couple posts they said it coudl be a bad ecu but my car still runs fine EXCEPT! it rev limits at 6500 and no vtec still but no check engine light comes on...only when i jump it sooo WTF and if your going to tell me to search give me the title or a link cause i searchd:CEL 0, CEL stay on, CEL CODES, Check engine light stays on,...etc thanks!

 

i had a similar problem a few weeks ago with my swap. only difference was that there was no CEL even when i jumped the connector.

problem was fixed because there was a mix up in the wiring.

i had the wrong connector going to the vtec solenoid.

yeah mayb..which wires did you have mixed up? cause my fan switch was messed the previous owner had a botchy wiring job when they went from a h23 to the jdm H22 that blew up on me this time....so when we put in this new motor there were some wire that took us a while to find where they went cause they just started splicing....if anyone else has anything also that would be nice im thakful for the help...

 

Im having the same problem except that I have no cel. I'm guessing my problem is the VSS because what holds it down in the block, that piece just broke off from the block so now it is loose. My speedo onlu works when not accelerating much so there is something from with the VSS. About your wires, check all the vtec connections and everything vtec related. If anybody knows what I could do to fix my VSS to hold it down to the block please let me know. I thing it is going in and oit of the tranny.

 

well i started my car up today after messing aroudn and cheking some wires.....well i got first to engage vtec then 2nd tap into then i had to hit my brakes....i can hit vtec when i first start up the car but as soon as i hit the brakes it stops engage.....
