i worked and worked to get my car running....finaly got it started up ...for a while...but when i start the car the motor instantly revs up to the redline and wont drop down again...what is this from?....this is the first motor of mine to do this...can somone let me know whats up and how to fix it thanx

 

This is the stock motor that came in car right,,? You didnt just do a swap or anything? If so and the motor was sitting for a long time check the throttle cable to see if its sticking..Or it could be a big vacuum leak of some sort..Is the check engine light on?

My fathers motor used to do that **** and we found out it was the intake manifold gasket..It was leaking like crazy..

 

it might be the intake mani gasket....it was just swapped...from a 89 civic si motor to a crx si motor....same motor it could be the intake mani gasket....ill have to see though
