Weird Start Up
Hey guys, here's the scoop. I parked my car for the "Canadian Winter". And I decided to turn her over and take it for a spin. Well, it didn't turnover? So I put the battery charger overnight. Full charge, and she turned on! Then took her out for a long cruise to build a solid charge. Then about 3hrs after I went into the garage to make sure it would turn over again. Nope! Lights came on, stereo working and all other gadgets. So I used my other car to boost it. Turned the key, nothing. Turned it again nothing. While my other car is running and jumpers are on. Then finally after 4 consecutive tries, it turns over. I took her out for another long cruise, and I mean long, about 2hrs worth and about 150kms. So then this morning I go out and try it again, same ****! WTF!
Hopefully with my long story maybe I could get a diagnose on the symtoms? Hmmm, if anyone has some insight on this please post away.
Thanks in advance.

Check the battery terminals to make sure they are nice and tight and check all the wiring for the alt. and starter for the same things. Or it sounds like a starter issue, if you want to know for sure get a friend and try the old redneck trick, have someone hold the key to start while you hit it with a hammer. If she cranks its your starter, it really works have gotten more than a few to start that way.
Good luck

That sounds like a plan. I did check the battery terminals, and they are tighter than a nuns ****. I will look at all the wiring and such. Thanks again.
Checking the wiring is a good idea... is your battery light on? If it is it might mean your alternator is going and isn't charging the battery anymore leaving it enough juice to run lights/radio etc, but not enough to fire up the car in the morning... but you also have difficulty jumping so I dunno if that's it...
You might also want to take the starter somewhere to get it tested...

Your battery could have a cracked case, so it would lose its charge very fast. I would get a new battery first. You should have took out the battery over winter and put it on a shelf in the basement.
