Anyone know where to go to get info on reading engine trouble codes? The check engine light has been going on and off recently and I was hoping to check it and fix it myself rather than pay some half-a$$ed mechanic $300+ to check the code and replace a sensor.

 

Your ecu is under the carpet in the passenger footwell area. Pull the carpet up and look at the little window and count the number of flashes. Then check the code here:

is it suppost to blink(just 1 quick one) when you start the car?

 

yes if you read 8 flash is code 8 and etc.check the code at the web site.turn you switch on but dont start and se it.

so is it a code? the light comes on for a split second when i turn the car on(like a quick flash).. normal?

yeah i want to know too. When i turn the car on at first it just flashes for a sec. once only. Normal????????????

 

yes, it's normal. There should also be one short flash when you turn the car off.
(same as when you turn the car on)
