The Crest is in La Canada Flintridge area (near Pasadena, where Hwy 210 and 2 meet).

GMR is in Glendora. (closet highway is 210)

Palm to Pines is in Idyllwild.

Ortega is heading towards San Diego from LA, where Highway 5 and 74 meet.

Palomar is .... I dunno.

San Diego off the 76.

After you finish with Pally take the 76 to the 79 to the 78 and go through Julian. Stay on the 78 and take Banner Grade Road (which may still be under construction). Either go through Borrego to Montezuma or turn around and head back. Enjoy.

+1 on the disappointment.

But the year-round riding makes up for it.

I really like the Crest.

I think I've been on GMR, off of Foothill (210 fwy?). That had some good spots, but it was new to me, and I've only ridden it once, so I wan't comfortable.

I love the crest. However, I've heard CHP is in full force, and if you get tagged, they'll stick you for everything from exhaust to flushmounts.

What exit did you take off the 210? There are a few ways to get up to GMR...up Highway 39/Azusa Avenue is the Azusa side, where you have to go across East Fork to get to "GMR."

Thankfully it's also sunny early, so you can ride when it's still lukewarm.

HWY 74 from Palm Desert to Anza/San Diego (you can stop at Temecula)
HWY 243 to Idyllwild which also dumps into the Hemet/Temecula area
HWY 18 - Big Bear/Crestline/Rim of the World
The infamous Ortega HWY.......
Joshua Tree Monument ride from Joshua Tree down to Indio...

that's just a few of some decent twisties....of course, it's always fun to jump on any of the freeways and hit the beaches of cali- Newport, La Jolla, Huntington-you get the idea!!!! Bump for socal riders
