Default HELP!!! CTR Pistons Pass CA Emissions?

I messed up my gsr so I would like to build it up with Type R internals. I was wondering if the CTR pistons will pass CA Emissions? Or will an oversized Type R piston will pass CA Emissions? If anyone have these parts let me know. Looking for Crank, Pistons, Rods, etc..

if anything, running lean will increase his chance of failing. running lean creates more heat, which in turn creates more NOx emissions, the hardest of all emissions to control. Cats can barely control NOx, so any excess will overpower the cats and release too much into the tailpipe. this lean condition would only be compounded further by the higher compression of the CTR pistons. The only possible way he stands of passing is to run a perfect a/f ratio at idle, and retarded timing to lower combustion temps.

Exactly, and this is exactly the reason cars have EGR valves, the EGR valve dumps non combustable gas back into the intake to cool down combustion temps. I agree, that you want to be tuned stoichiometric if you want to pass emissions.

interesting. now some are saying it does, some say it wont. I just want to get some new pistons and rebuild, but I want a little power thats wwhy im asking. Lets make it easy.

List all sorts of pistons that honda offers and list if they pass emission or not.

JDM CTR yes or no
JDM ITR yes or no
US ITR i know passes
Oversized JDM ITR yes or no
JDM ITR Spoon yes or no

Thanks everyone.

there are too many variables to generalize such a question. People fail with stock pistons, it all depends on the condition of your car.

how is your car tuned?
how old/make of your cat?
what kind of header are you using?
Oh, what kind of intake, and when was the filter last cleaned.
sprak plugs?

The piston itself is not the issue, as its been pointed out to you.
Whats your compression ratio?
Air/fuel settings?
Why are we even answering you?
Wtf does this have to do with the ITR?
lol

Since i Have a spun bearing, since every damn thing in the block is coming off, I have a stock GSR with no mods. ALl stock filter, injectors.;.. you get the point, its STOCK. I just want to upgrade the pistons, just want to know the ones i have listed will pass or wont pass emissions. we can assume i have all the requirements to get it to pass smog.

Make it short I want to build this motor a little, once im done drop in my Hatch and take it to the ref

Its going to be a complete rebuild. new gaskets, new everything. I just want to know if i throw on some JDM Spoon ITR 81MM pistons, will i fail emissions just because I have those pistons?
