Default installing itr piston in b16

i just blew my motor on my 99 civic si and was wondering do i have to shave part of the rods to fit some itr pistons in it. btw can i still pass smog with it? thanks in advance.

ITR pistons will get you a lower CR, are you looking to lower it? CTR pistons and JDM B16 pistons are the only factory pistons that will raise your compression. I am pretty sure of this. Other than those you can always go aftermarket.

No you have the ITR pistons confused with CTR pistons. The CTR are the ones you want and yes some machining to the rods is necessary to fit correctly.

That I don't know. But I don't see why just raising the compression ration a little would effect emissions. Down here in FL theres no such thing as smog anymore so I have no idea about the restrictions, sorry.

how about the jdm b16 pistons. its going to be a spare motor incase i cant get a hook up for my smog later on.
