Default CV Halfshaft issue...

I searched and couldn't find anything in this forum. Today driving into work it sounds like my halfshaft is going out, dont know which one though. How do I tell which one is going out? Its clicking pretty bad when accelerating and braking, not when coasting though. Only makes noise when I'm putting torsion on it. Any help would be appreciated.

search axle, not halfshaft

If it clicks while turning left it usually is your right axle and vise-versa.

Searched through all the axle threads and didn't find much...the thing is that it does it under acceleration and braking aside from turning. Could it be something more than the halfshaft? It seems that its just begining to be serious so i'm just gonna replace both axles this weekend. Anything else it could be?

OK, FYI halfshaft is the one inbetween the drivers side axle and the trans. What you're looking for is either going to be called the axle or CV shaft. As for determining which one, I'd start by looking to see if either one has a torn boot and has sprayed grease all around it (if so that'd be my first suspect and if it hasn't gone bad it will soon) otherwise, drive your car and then have a friend drive the car with you in the passenger seat, you can usually tell which side it's coming from, the noise or vibration should be considerably more pronounced on one side. Not really likely to be anything but a bad CV from the way you've described it.
