Where did you get your thermoswitch?

Default Where did you get your thermoswitch?

im looking for an oem thermoswitch, or a cheap one. it's for a B16A, i've tried jumping it with a paper clip and it doesnt turn the fan on, so im assuming i need a new one.. any ideas?

did you ground the yel/grn wire that goes to this switch?
When that wire is grounded to radiator fan should energize.

i think you'll need a 27mm wrench if you go to the u-pull and get one.

both wires are hooked up. they are both gounds, the switch is a grounded switch. he just needs to know where to buy one..

thats the wrong style, we need the older one. it looks something like this..



and its located on the back of the block by the oil filter..

I had to go to honda to get one. I think it costs around $30. I also had to order it.

correct me if im wrong, the engine is a b16a. even though it has the thermo switch as pictured above, will it also have one on the thermostat housing?

nope. Either get a new one from honda, go to the junkyard and get one or you could buy my spare.

how do u test the thermoswitch if the engine is out of the car? we pulled the motor and the fan didnt work, how can i test it now?

You can put it in boiling water (just the lower section), and grab a volt meter... When the water gets to like 180 or so it will open, and if you have the volt meter on continuty it will read on the meter. Or beep if you have that setting.

Now, if i were just to wire it so that it stayed on whenever the car was running.. would that be ok?

Since the thermostat is closed untill the engine heats up it wouldnt actually take any longer to heat up? Just the fan motor would wear out quicker

If you jump the fan switch wires it will run when the car was on, yes....
