The intake arm is optional and I personally don't recommend it.

 

so what do you use to get air from the icebox to the throtte body?

 

Your stock intake arm.

I don't recommend the comptech peice because it is aluminum and draws more heat compared to the stock peice.

What if I want to wrap the aluminum arm with something to cover it from heat? Could we still get that arm?

 

Yeah, it will help but why pay money for something that won't do anything?
