Like the title says I am trying to determine what would cause the SRS light to stay on my girl friends Accord.
Everything is stock on the car, everything.
The car has not been hit or in a wreck.
The air bags have not been deployed either. The car is in perfect running condition the SRS light just decided to stay on today after she drove to school from work. Any information on what to look for and figure out why the light would stay on I would greatly appriciate it.
Thanks.
Nick.

There is a recall on the SRS unit for the 95 Accord. Just go to the dealer they will replace the whole UNIT. I just got my replaced last time I went for an oil change...
There is another recall abt some a/c wiring harness, I don't understand that ****.

More than likely the unit went bad. If you post your VIN # i can save you the time and tell you if there are any open recalls on your car. The only other thing would be low or high battery voltage.

Well she took it to the dealership and they told her that there was no outstanding recalls.
I think she is going to go back today and hook it up onto their machine to diagnose the problem.
Thanks for you help!

i have a 94 lx accord and a few weeks back my SRS light stayed on. i checked everything out and it seems its the actual unit that fawked up. Since its all connected together, i also lost my horn and my cruise control. is the recall for the 94 as well?
yup same here and i did the resest trick and it still stayed on and well took it ot the dealer and they want to replace some kind of reel mechanism which is like 500 so anything i can do to dodge that would be great!!!

what year is it. I think airbags are supposed to be inspected every 10 years and that could cause the light to come on since it hasnt been hooked up to the diag tool. Other than that it could be a wiring problem or an alternator that could be going out as well. I think a dealership will diag airbag system lights for free just like seatbelts are warrented for the life of the vehicle.
