Default breaking axels

Well, it looks like I have a good reason to do the B swap sooner than later... I was in the parking lot of my bank going maybe 10 miles an hour, when I heard and felt the axel rip in two. I pulled into a parking spot and sure enough the axel was gone. After a quick stop at the parts store and 30 mins later I had a brand new axel ready to go. I didnt back up more than a foot when snap, it happened again....Not sure what is causing this to happen, but rather than deal with now, I am starting the B swap asap, already have the mounts and a new clutch on the way. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this? My throwout bearing was the only thing showing any signs of problems.

they are fine, i was only going like 10 miles an hour when it happened and the second time did not move the car more than half a foot with the second one broke, Im not sure how the throw out bearing would lock up one side only, otherwise something must have poped in the tranny
