Default Idle blip

After my car is warm the idle sits around 1k but it will drop about 1-200 rpms, its ever so slight but you can hear it if you listen and see the needle move. It has new plugs, what else could cause it to do that. Also when I start my car in the mornings it has a nasty metal tapping sound, not your everyday light tap but louder and it goes away once the car is warm. I know they have a little tap noise but this noise is different, like metal clanky.

Is your idle surging, too? Or is it just dropping?

In regards to the tapping issue...check your oil level. If it's ok, you may want to do a valve adjustment.

The guy I got the car from said they just had the valves adjusted but im starting to think otherwise, what oil should i be running (5w30?)

the idle just barely drops it doesnt surge up and down it never goes past 1kwhen warm but will drop a tad and it only take a split second but you can notice it when paying attention
