Default Trunk bar for an Ek

Just incase anyone ever wanted a trunk bar, or wants to reconnect the sub frame after removing the rear bumper support for the reason of weight or because of a body kit, the 95 del sol front upper strut bar will bolt right into the trunk at the stock 4 bolt locations with no mods.

Just wanted to share this cool little hybrid thing I figured out a few weeks ago. I had one lying around, so it wasn't a bad free upgrade. My handling actually improved a bit. It def tightened it up a bit!

whats a trunk bar? do you mean the front del sol bar bolts onto the back STRUTS of the EK chassis? or does it bolt to where the metal rear bumper goes IN PLACE of the rear metal bumper, which is under the plastic bumper cover?

i think he means a front STB will bolt up to the location the rear bumper support bolts up at.

i know the EG has big bolts in the trunt at those locations, you can remove them and re-insert them through whatever bar he's talking about

Ek's have the holes, there are 4 19mm bolts threaded through them. That is what holds your bumper on. Not the fascia but the actual metal bumper.

So for an EK, this isnt IN the trunk, its like...behind the metal bumper? Behind the plastic painted bumper cover, this is behind the metal-designed-to-crumple-bumper?

if you open your trunk/hatch...there are four bolts..underneath your carpet and cardboard thing that covers your spare, the bolts hold the rear metal bumper where it inserts underneath the car (what a guy above said) I always thought they held your gas tank up.

all the explanations have been right. Since I no longer have my "bumper support" behind the factory plastic bumper, I used this bar to re-connect my FRAME and thus improved my handleing by helping to stop chassis flex.

It was a free mod, and now you all know that for the EK that the del-sol front upper strut bar is a hybrid convertion that works for this so you can save some CASH! I used the D.C. sport one for this.

Because I dont have the bumper support in there was no "nuts" to thread the bots to. I had no bolts, So I had to add in nuts and washers by hand through the frame to put this in. I did it with the bumper on. (no metal support though) and it wasn't to bad at all.

go to the site I just posted to see the rear ones. The front is different. I want a traction bar and the frame support for the front next.

I just put on front and rear lower sway bars as well.

Is there any other less expensive alternative to the EM Racing trunk bars? i cant justify spending a total of $455 plus shipping for that.
