Default a$$holes tried to steal my car

To add to the frequent thief stories, here is mine...
7:15 am, I walk down to my building's garage. As I open the door into the garage, I see two mo fos walking out of the garage through the broken gate. (the gate has been acting up and was broken, in the open position)
Feeling suspicious, I approach my car to find the sunroof panel bent and sitting crooked.(the sunroof was left in the tilted position) I start running out after them and see them peeling out... Could not make out the plate #s.
So, I guess I am lucky to still have my car...
I've got to fix my busted sunroof. Hopefully I'll just have to replace the panel. It is pretty rusty and feels like its broken in 1/2. Maybe the softness of the panel prevented other components from being damaged. But I doubt that.
And now I am paranoid!!! That and feeling discouraged about working on my car are the worst things. I am discouraged because its a lot of energy, time, money, and love going into something that has a high probability of being stolen.
The thought of selling the crx for this reason did cross my mind.

happened to me many times (3 to be exact). yeah, im always paranoid too. im constantly lookin out the window. i agree, u put in all that work only for it to get stolen. the first time, they took my clean *** stereo system setup. there was glass and wires everywhere. sucks a lot b/c i put a lot of time to hide all the wires. i feel your pain man. now, i have an alarm, autolock, and the club...helps me sleep at night.

get locking hood pins and disconnect your fuel ground or a dizzy plug everytime until that gate gets fixed. i slept in my car with my cousin one night in his show altima a couple years back. two nights of persistance they came back, we caught them and they NEVER came back

Yeah, I took out the main relay overnight and got a club.
Upon more detailed inspection of the roof, I found that they used the side of the roof as a pry point - there are a bunch of dents and scratches on the part between the sunroof and the door.
Also, just found a complete sunroof assembly at a local junk yard for $125 - I'll probably take that (depending on the condition)
