I fired up my 93 coupe and after a min I smelled that burning resistor smell. Couldn't figure out what it was so I continued on my way. I noticed my battery light came on as soon as I revved up the motor. I turned off my radio, heat, etc and cycled my wipers and they went like 100mph. Then I turned on my lights, defrost, wipers, radio and everything to continue home without the battery light coming on.

Voltage regulator? ... Which means I just have to replace the alternator?

 

i just stuck my nose down by the alternator, smells like crap. pretty sure i need a new alternator...
