What Cat Are You Running?
Hey all, I have a 92 civic hatchback and I had taken off the headers and put aftermarket ones on. Now on the stock headers the cat is included on it. I went to a shop to have them install a catalytic converter below the car and after the aftermarket headers. They said," If we were to install a catalytic converter there you will not pass through DEQ because the Cat has to be closer to the engine for my application." Now This was kind of strange since I know that the 92-95 Civic Si's had there cat where I want to put it and they pass through DEQ.
So what I am wondering is I know there have been others who have put aftermarket headers on their cars and had to get an aftermarket cat on as well, but which one do I need to pass through DEQ and still run my aftermarket headers? What about Landspeeds Powercore Cat? I saw that in the April Issue of SCC mag.
Please help me out.
