Electrical question--why won't my fan shut off?
It's the strangest thing...after I shut off my 4th gen and remove the key, I can slide the fan selector L-R and my heating fan comes on!
I found this out the hard way when I tried to start my car this morning and I had NO juice. I jumped it and got to work, but when I shut off my car in the parking lot, I noticed the fan thing.
The only thing I don't mess around with is electrical, therefore I have NO clue. Anyone?

im no master electrical god or anything so dont flame me but it sound like maybe your connection is a short to power? correct me if im wrong maybe time to pull the dash and check connections?
I belive if you drive the car hard, the fans will stay on for up to 10 minutes after the car is off, but I'm not positive about that.

I'm not talking about the radiator fan...I mean my climate control stays on after I've stopped the engine and removed the key.

that's what I was thinking. The only problem is...I don't do electrical. Period. At all. To be perfectly honest, I'm a ***** and I'm afraid to mess with anything electrical. I'm hoping there's a simpler solution...

Sounds to me like you have a cross-short. Probably the blower motor got a wire that is hot at all times, and well is giving it problem, you're going to have to check your connections. Something must've gotten pinched.
sober, do you own a multimeter, this would be pretty easy to do....
the blower motor is right under the lack of glovebox, just disconnect the 2 pin connector on it and test for changes in power and ground with different key positions....let me know what it does, and ill look through my helms schematics and figure it out....i need to know about how many volts it gets at all times...

that's interesting. I have a small leak in my windshield trim (it's getting fixed in a couple of weeks) and I get a few drops of water from behind my glovebox now and again. The leaking H2O could be ******* up the motor there. I'll check later today and get back to you.
I have a friend w/ a DMM, but I don't know how to use it and he's out of town until Wed. of next week. I guess I'll have to wait. In the meantime, I'm just making sure the fan setting is set to "off" when I shut down the car.
I'll keep you posted...
