Anyone get a emissions warranty externsion reminder from honda dealership???
i just got this letter in the mail telling me to bring in my prelude since it was 96 about some emissons and free service. I called to make an appointment and the lady was like "your talking about the recall" what are they recalling???
sucks they are going to keep it for a day but all the services are free
needed an oil change

yea but these parts were installed by the previous owner my sister and she didnt ge the stock air box back
i dont think its a recall it just said its going to replace emission parts for free like distributor, ignition parts. but im wondering what will happen will they deny my car and have me leave it there for 1 day without them doing anything

They shouldn't be able to. I forget the name of the law, but theres a law that says that you can modify your car all you want, and as long as it isn't the modifications that cause the problem (where u would need your warranty used) then nothing is voided. And considering this recall/notice is based on a STOCK 96 prelude emissions, you modifying your cars emissions parts should not void it out. I mean... if a STOCK prelude will have these problems, then they shouldnt rule you out. If they'd did, id bitch at them for being retarded with flawed logic

yea thanks guys i guess im just being to worried well see tomorrow thanks for the replys and yea i read that law
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealership can only void your vehicle's warranty if they can directly prove the specific performance part you installed caused the problem for which you are seeking warranty service. If they cannot prove the performance part is at fault, they cannot legally deny you warranty service.

bullshit.....a cv boot??
you could get 2 brand new axles for less than 400 bucks, much less one boot
how is it $1030??
oil leaking on the sparkplugs means that 4 cheap seals under the valvecover need replacement, very simple, $20 in seals and a 10mm socket will get it done...
