Default Wiring Question(Searched)

Alright check this out fellas, I have a problem that I could use some help with please. I did a tranny swap and my buddy who I thought was more knowledgeable than me when it comes too electrical decided to just start cutting wires trying to do who knows what. When he cut wires he disabled my speedo and my temperature gauge wire or whatever controls the needle inside the gauge cluster. So basically I have no Speedo hooked up and my temperature is always stuck at the bottom. So my question is this how many wires does it take to hookup the speed sensor?? Any diagrams?? or whatever useful knowledge could be shed. Also please the same for whatever controls the engine temp also. On another note, I have a shitty *** idle, I searched and my guesses are it's either the FITV or the fuel filter. But I had a question though since my cars temp gauge isn't hooked up is the ECU reading the car as cold and therefore holding a low idle cuz it thinks its not warmed up or does it not matter if the gauge isn't working??

A blue and red wire that I am unsure of where it goes I made that connection to the black wire but decided I better not cuz I don't want to make a mistake of putting wrong wires together.

[IMG][/IMG]
All these wires were color matched to make sure they're right, there are 3 wires connected to the appropriate wire. I have one extra wire a black and yellow wire that I am unsure of where it goes cuz I cannot seem to find a matching wire whatsoever around that area.

An exposed red and yellow wire that is currently unconnected to anything.

A blue wire that seems to come from my gauge cluster that is connected to an aftermarket black wire that I'm unsure of where the black wire needs to be connected because currently it is not being used.

ECU wires most seem to be connected appropriately but I have some that are not even connected whatsoever.

Is this the speed sensor, I have two of the wires from the second pic that are connected here.

If anybody can please offer some input this would be great cuz I am unsure of what to do. I am going to get the whole harness redone when I get some more money but in the meantime I need it to work correctly.
