Default crazy 97ex with d15z1

So a friend of m ine buys a 97ex auto civic. He tells me it has a bunch of problems and I decide to take it home to fix. So I am driving this thing home it is prob the slowest worst maintained car I have ever drivin in. So I start to pull codes and 7,41,54. Car has a bad idle and won't rev padst 5k rpm's. So I fix the tps cause it was a little off and the car still won't idle. I look aroud a littl end thatthe motor isa 93 d15z1?
No I am confused if this can even run correctly? It has the 97 ex intake and ecu. car is a auto. I know the vx was a little different than the regular ex. Code 54 is for a sensor that is on obd2 motors. d15 does not have this? Any feedback will help.

This engine will run like crap with the ex ecu, , if you want to run it convert to obd1 and use a p07.

That's what I was thinking. It has the ex intake manifold. Is the vx any different?

VX IM is a lot smaller and has EGR. The p07 can be picked up for about 30 bucks, make sure you get the non-cali model if your vx is non-cali modeled.

Yeah, after some thinking I told my friend I would swap a y7 in for him. To many problems to work with this crap.
