yeah, they are in very good condition. He is very meticulous about everything on that damn car haha. I just figured I would get them and if I decide I dont like them I could maybe sell them pretty easily. So what do you guy's think, get them? The tires only have 500 miles on them. No curb rash or anything

Your friend is giving you a bargain. Typical prices on gunmetal Type R wheels with no tires are $300-400 if they're pretty beat up, $450-525 if they're in pretty good condition, and $550-600 if they are absolutely perfect. I haven't seen the CW Type R wheels sell for the latter two price ranges but that might be because most of the ones that go up for sale are pretty beat up.
Ok, i guess im going to go ahead and get them. if nothing else just for the tires and maybe track wheels. He also just got some buddy club racing seats if anyone is interested in his stock type r seats let me know. I think he wants $350 for them.
Tires don't add that much to the value of the wheels, unless they're tires that people are likely to want to buy anyway. With the ITR, that means the Bridgestone RE010 or the Falken Azenis RT-215 or RT-615. And maybe the RA-1 if the wheels are really beat up, and someone is getting them for track use. With any other tires, you're likely to get more by selling the tires separately from the wheels.

I just meant for my use since the tires are good. I figure if nothing else I could just drive around on those for a bit instead of buying tires for my other wheels. If nothing else I figured I might be able to sell them and make some profit or at least break even.

The 712 is Kumho's old "budget performance tire", the one that the Yokohama ES100 beat in all 23 out of 23 characteristics tested by the Tire Rack. 712
OTOH, if you get a good deal on them... heck, any tire is worth it if you get a good enough deal on it!

Thanks, Ken. Always uplifting
I got the set cheap and they did their job. I have no complaints about them. I tracked and Auto X'ed my Azenis.

They're better in the rain than RE-010's. Some folks need street tires, and 712's make very good street tires.

This is a good price considering they are around $350 each new from Acura.

I disagree, STRONGLY. The RE010 is great in the rain, when it has plenty of tread depth. When it's worn, it's not as good in the rain. Just like any other tire.
Of course, the RE010 offers the crisp handling that you will never feel from the 712, or even from the ES100.
However, everything the 712 does, the ES100 (as well as the Kumho Ecsta SPT) does better, for about the same price.

Ken, I simply stated that my daily driven wheels had a set of Kumho's on them, that's all. Let's not get into a 15 page tire discussion for nothing. They are **** tires that you get a good 25k-30k out of that I got for a few bucks.
Enough with your analogies and graphs and ******* links to threads from the dawn of the internet and news papers. I had them on my car I liked them. Period.
Christ, sorry to ramble, just a bit agravated.

Seems like all these "wheel threads" turn into philosophical debates about tires and their ratings
Albeit it is good information, just not necessary in this thread since it deviates from the users initialy posed question.
$350 seems to be a good price that your friend is offering you.
