What should I replace on a 110k H22 before I drop it in?
I think I can get an H22 long block with about 110,000 miles on it to replace my 150k h23, is there anything I should replace on the h22 before I drop it in? I was thinking the balance shaft seals, oil cooler ring, rear water pipe holes (a bitch to replace when motor is mounted) pressure sending unit, oil pan gasket. anything else? Maybe the main seal? what usually goes bad that I can replace easily when the motor is already out. Maybe I should do a complete rebuild? This is going in my daily driver and I can get the motor for around 500 ish if all goes well.
I've never rebuilt a motor or installed one but I think I can do it since I've got basic knowledge (more then some people) and a few friends that can build the hell outta the b series motors.

The regular stuff, water pump, oil pump, timing belt.. I would checkout and see about doing a manual tensioner conversion and balance shaft removal... I would pretty much do anything that was easier to do with the engine out of the car.
Most of the seals like you mentioned. DO replace the Main Seal. If you're keeping it as an autotensioner it may be smart to replace that, or swap over your H23 Manual tensioner parts.
