Hey!
Hey guys!
I'm Andy, and I drive a 01 Civic LX. Loving it alot
.
I plan on modding my car, but rather unsured of what to do. I wanna get an AEM intake for sure.
Just wanna ask: are strut bars neccesary for civics? Some friends at school say the chassis of civics don't flex very much, so strut bars aren't needed. Is this true?
And what about those HP chips?
Thanx for ur help

Like they said, you're gonna wanna make sure you're in the right forum here because people get pissy.
As far as strut bars, they can make a difference but they're more for appearance. A really nice, thick pair of strut bars will help you out. I wouldn't make them a priority though, that money can be spent more effectively elsewhere.
HP chips are a total load of crap. The only thing similar that I've ever heard of making a difference are Hondata ECU reflashes for K series motors, specifically the 2002+ Civic Si.
Aaaand you're gonna wanna ignore people who tell you to get rid of your car here! The older Civics are a lot more popular for a variety of reasons, but the model you have still has potential, there's just less aftermarket support.
Welcome to Honda-Tech! Just go to the right forum and read, read, read.
