Default Confirm something for me real quick :)

Hey I'm kind of short on time right now to look around the net so I wanted to post this pic up real quick for opinions on what you think the engine and intake mani are from... I'm pretty sure I know what it is but just wanted a couple of outside opinions to confirm Here's the pic:

*EDIT - I hope this is in the right section and you guys don't mind me posting this in here

judging by the intake manifold (simularly positioned to the ls cause gsr's sit lower) and the red valve cover I would say it is a b18c5 type-r motor. To know for sure you would have to snap a pic where the block mounts up to the tranny, down left from the header theres a engine id tag.

anyone can just buy a red valve cover and stick it on their gsr b18c1 engine, so the only way to tell is the vin or the block code. and the im looks like skunk2

yeah i'd say its the JDM B18C Type R motor with a skunk2 IM. I say the JDM ITR motor because of the Honda Emblem on the valve cover

I agree although as said before, that could have been swapped on. We need to see a pic of the engine block code to the left of the exhaust manifold.

i dont think that's a skunk2 manifold; skunk2 doesnt have those round potrusions on the front, or the flat piece on the top, which would lead me to believe that its a b16 head and manifold. could be a swap or an lsvtec.

just noticed that the upper rad hose goes to the back of the head; not the front. so it's not a gsr. definitely a b16/itr casting. beyond that, i dont think you can tell anything else just from this pic.

Yea I know that'd be the obvious answer but this car is not local to me.

Thanks for the quick answers everyone, a lot of different stuff but it helped.

*EDIT - before I even posted the pic up I also noticed the litte bumps on the intake manifold... anybody have an idea what kind it is based on that info?

Intake manifold looks like a b16 manifold so I'm guessing maybe that is an LS/VTEC... hard to say though without seeing the block code.

no way to tell, other than the info that we already posted.

body is an LS (no strut bar studs). head is a b16 or itr, most likely b16. no way of telling what the block is.
