Default Clutch issues....need help searched already

Well today me and a friend spent all day putting a clutch and pressure plate in my friends GSR-T.. Well the removal went smothly but the install was a nightmare. We got it all buttoned up, he test drove it and he says that its extremely slower than it used to be he bought an STX stage 1 off ebay. But my question is why is it slower is it cuz of the 500mile break in. or we just idiots and fucked something up. please let me know i have a huge headache and im afraid it will get worse.

What do you mean it's "slower"? It may just feel that way. Unless you already glazed the clutch and ruined the break-in, I doubt anything was done incorrectly.

Is it not grabbing? Is it slipping?

Keep in mind that pretty much any "stage 1" clutch is of the same caliber as an OEM clutch.

Well, he should be more careful with his car and his money so that he doesn't waste both of them.

If he repeatedly dumps the clutch, the break-in process is pretty much useless, because he will glaze the clutch over pretty quick. He can drive it hard, he just can't engage it hard. Once you're in gear, drive it as hard as you want.

I doubt he's making enough power to just spin the clutch/tires while it is engaged.

Hey wuts up, its Bishop, his friend. Yeah, when i start going it'll be like almost stalling and then i have to push the clutch in again to get it to not stall a few more times. My RPM's won't even rise at all. Speed won't pick up that great, even though i'm taking it easy (staying around 2g's and 3g's RPM). But if this is normal, then its a good thing tho right? I took rudelude for a spin jus to show him, and i tried punching it but the turbo will spool up and no RPMs still. But i'm going to wait until 500 miles and then i'm going to try slowly from there. But thanks for the advice guys. sofa king pissed! lol

Ok, I just took it out for another spin, I let it warm up for about 2 minutes for the RPMs to settle. It drove fine, nothing was wrong. Oh, and before that I revved the engines a few times. But umm, i'll give it a week or 500 miles, whichever comes first until I start pushing it; nothing too much tho. And also, a friend told me that the petal was going to be heavy in the beginning, so that might have to do with it. I just think i was being paranoid. hopefully. But thankyou very much and if you have n e more insites...holla back, aite~peace~
